bought a new computer and i got confused with the security softwares. I am confused whether i should install Norton or Mcafee, ZoneAlarm or Sygate Personal Firewall, Windows Defender or Webroot Spyware. Dood pls help me what should i install in my computer so that i can keep it safe from virus, adware, malware etc... (other softwares are also welcome other than abover)

Depends on your OS Probably, you've got Win XP get Service Pack 2, you won't have to worry much about Firewall. Mcafee and Norton Anti Virus both are equally good. Make sure you keep your virus definition files uptodate. For Spyware, I use Ad-Aware by Lavasoft, which I think is good. Other software ??? It depends on your need.

Dont sinstall Mcafee that will slow ur computer for sure..Install Zone Alarm thats the best for now in the market.

All you need is Antivirus either from NORTON or mcafee I prefer NORTON. forget the rest.. you might need spyware remover if u surf too much junkie sites... spysweeper is the best to take care of the sypwares and adwares. there is free version available from SPYBOT
